I'm not sure that I'd entirely beleive that statement. There can be a period that is to late...like, uh, (wait, wait, I think I'm on to something), ummmm, you know what, on second though, I guess you're right. I would have said that winter is too late to begin a garden but, I'm wrong...it's not too LATE...it's TOO EARLY!
Something could imply an infinite set of parameters which one could draw an innumerable set of circumstances. Where would a greenhouse fit into your equation? Limitless variables to consider as well..
